Take Action To Achieve Your Goals!

In June I was lucky enough to attend Randy Smith’s Northallerton Meetup.  You can read about the experience in my last post.

I can honestly say that attending this event really is the single most important step I have taken in my online career to date, even though I did not essentially know it at the time.

It has been all of the things that have happened since then that have brought me to that conclusion.  Not only did the meeting help me to set defined goals and make myself accountable to both myself and others, but it helped me to define the steps I have taken to get to this point where I am today, and I want to share those steps with you.

Step one:

  • Believe in yourself.  I have thought long and hard about including this as I wavered in my self belief at a point just before going to the meetup; in fact the meetup was a pivotal turning point for me in terms of KNOWING that I truly believe in my abilities, but I recognise that occassional self doubt is completely natural, however constant self doubt needs working on.  You must change this first of all, and believe in you.

Step two:

  • Have A Plan.  Indeed this is an incredibly important step.  Even if you do not stick to your original plan it is essential to have some plan that you can work to, to give you incentive, motivation and goals to work towards.  You must know where you are heading, and if you don’t believe you can do it, go back to step one!

Step three:

  • Take Action.  You will have heard it so many times before, but nothing will happen if you do not take action.  You must have a plan, goals to work towards, but they will not happen until you take action!  If you reach a goal and find it isn’t what you wanted don’t think of it as time wasted, recognise the valuable learning curve you have gone through to get there.

Sometimes believing in yourself is hard to do, particularly when things are not going so well, maybe something technical doesn’t work the way you wanted it to, or a great planned product launch falls short of your expectations.  Don’t think that it is all going to happen either quickly or easily.  In order to succeed it takes hard work, determination and perseverance, all of which is within your reach, especially when you believe in yourself.

In fact, today, I am going to help you with that self belief, if it is a stumbling block for you.  Just click on the image below to download a free seven day short course that will help you to believe in you, and if it makes a difference and gives you a step up the ladder then I’ll be very glad to have helped.

  1. Hi Mandy, I hope you had a great birthday earlier this week 😎

Great post Mandy, I like the fact that you mention self belief. I recently wrote a guest post for Dawn kay and in it I say about how self doubt held me back for and stopped me taking the steps I needed to take in order to achieve my goals and dreams.

Once we overcome a hurdle we realise that the hurdle was just a stepping stone that need not of held us back.

I now believe in myself and have moved forward in leaps and bounds. I now reach my goals, slowly at times, and am still aiming for my dreams but I know I’ll reach it.

It is important to take action, without it nothing will get done and our dreams will forever remain dreams.

It’s really good to see that you took so much away with you from Randy’s meet up. Feedback like that makes me want to attend even more than I do now. Next year I’ll be attending, need to sort the wheels out first as my little trike won’t make that distance 🙁

Love the new layout of your blog Mandy. Your Fiverr image is a bit squashed though.

    Catch up soon Mandy
    Respect and regards, Barry

    1. Hi Barry, thanks for visiting. I’m glad you like the post and I did read your post on Dawn’s blog. It was very inspiring, but as I say here, don’t think of things that haven’t worked out as being time wasted, recognise the immense learning curve you have gone through.

Thanks for the comment about the new layout, I just had it done last night, and I do know about the fiverr image, not sure what happened there and certainly don’t know how to fix it!

      Enjoy the journey.

  2. Hi Mandy,

I hope you had a great Birthday. Sometimes it takes an event like Randy’s meet up to get you aware of some things, sometimes reading an inspirational blog post will open your eyes.

The help of others can really get you to see things in a different light and motivate you in very positive ways.

The bottom line though, it all has to come from within yourself.

You know the saying “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink”.

Believing in yourself comes before passion, planning and taking action. Before you set out to do anything always believe in yourself, even if you fail.

    Terry Conti

    1. So true, Terry. Our belief in ourselves is the starting point, taking action is the end point. Thanks for visiting.

      Enjoy the journey.

  3. Hi Mandy,

Sounded like you had a great time at Randy’s seminar! I haven’t been to one in ages, but I do know how they can really motivate you and get you moving..they are very powerful presentations!!

There are 3 very important tips you provided and I know that sometimes it is hard to keep on track. Sometimes I just have to re-thnk things through and get moving again, as I have so much going on in my life that I lose track of everything sometimes.

Believing in yourself is important and I often fail to see that aspect because I just go and DO and not really think about that, but I suppose that is not the way to go!

The other day I had a dream that I had made $20,000 over night – I guess I was listening to too many stories…lol. I came online to check my clickbank account and nothing new *sigh*. So, that gets me so discouraged sometimes, as I just need 3 more sales to get a check from them…only been trying for well over a year now. Hoping that maybe my dream wasn’t too far fetched and maybe that day will soon arrive? 😉

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Linda, thanks for visiting. I agree with you, the motivation that comes from being in a place with others who have the same interests is wonderful.

I’m sure your ‘dream’ was a premonition of reality. Keep at it.

      Enjoy the journey.

  4. Hey Mandy

If going to Randy’s meet up was the most important step you’ve made, then I bet you wish you’d done it a long time ago don’t ya?

And I hope you’ve been sticking to that plan of yours and you’ve accomplished what you wanted to accomplish.

Don’t forget what Sally suggested about holding yourself accountable on your blog.

So, when you’ve achieved something you wanted to achieve, blog about it and we can all give you a pat on the back so to speak and more importantly you’ve then got social proof.

If people don’t have a plan then how the heck do they know what steps they need to take to achieve their goals.

    See you on Saturday misses.

p.s Thanks for the link in Barrys comment

    1. Hi Dawn, thanks for visiting. I do so wish I had done this last year, however I also believe that everything happens when it is meant to, so I’m really sure last year was not the right time for me, especially since I was nursing my mum who had broken her hip. I would have been seriously frustrated if I’d had all these great ideas and not been able to fulfill them!

As for the goals, just you wait til Saturday, and I certainly will be blogging about them!

      Enjoy the journey.

  5. Hi Mandy

    Finally made it over!

All is well with you I hope? Belated Birthday wishes for last week Mandy, hope you had a good time.

Terrific post Mandy, having belief in oneself is so important to achieving anything in life, it has to be right at the very forefront of all things. When it comes to self-doubt I am sure we have all experienced this at some point in our lives I certainly have.

Whenever I feel this way I tend to look back at what I have already accomplished, and remind myself at the time I thought it was difficult but I did it! It gives me the confidence and belief in myself that I can also achieve the task at hand.

As we know you can have the best laid out plans and goals in the world, but unless you take that vital step and Take Action it is all meaningless, and your dream will never be realised.

It looks as though you took a lot away with you from Randy’s meeting, hopefully one day I will attend myself.

    Here’s a quote from Gail Devers …….

“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe”

    1. Hi Ian, thanks for visiting. I know how hard it is to find time for some things, and blog hopping is one of them! I firmly believe that the starting point really is believing in yourself, Ian. I really did get a lot from the meeting, you should get to one sometime. I love the quote you included, thanks for sharing.

      Enjoy the journey.

  6. Wow – two mentions in two posts, I’m humbled and proud to have been a small part in helping nudge you along Mandy.

I’m sure with Dawn and Sally poking and prodding – you’ll have no choice but to keep it going…lol

So here’s to your continued success and some monetisation 😉

    1. Hi Randy, yes, Dawn and Sally have been ‘nudging’ (is that what they call it??).

      Enjoy the journey.

  7. Hi Mandy:

Today when I came to your blog and looked at it, the first look made me feel a big improvement to your blog. I am not saying it was not good before. it is always a cool blog, but today I found very good formating and subheadings, so cool that anyone can skim the post before reading it and that makes it very easy for the reader.

So with the well done job to get better, the contents are very optimized. You have taken action to reach your goal and you have told every one the same. good strategies here.

    Thanks for an awesome post.

    Fran A

    1. Hi Fran, thanks for visiting. And thanks so much for the nice words. Next week’s post is a bit about the makeover on the blog. Glad you like it!

      Enjoy the journey.

  8. Hi Mandy

That’s an inspiring post to start off the second half of the year.
For myself, I find that a plan to achieve x or y only works if I continually recommit to it.
Your three step process for achievement makes a lot of sense; I would add that I have to make sure I am believing in my ‘own’ path. It’s very easy to believe in another’s way. That’s the ‘next shiny object’ syndrome.
I’ve come to realise (which of course is centuries-old wisdom) that it’s only by knowing myself and my own way – and then believing in it, will I going to get success that will be meaningful.

Revel in your new state of commitment… Exciting!

    1. Hi Anthony, thanks for visiting. You are so right about re-committing to our goals. Often leaving an open end date does not help either as we can procrastinate too much then.

      Enjoy the journey.

  9. Hi Mandy,

Thanks for sharing such great post! Proper planning, self confidence and determination will help a person to achieve the goals .

    1. Hi James, thanks for visiting. You are so right.

      Enjoy the journey.

  10. Hi Mandy,

It’s been a while that i haven’t visited your blog. And you post is very inspiring. I have so many goals in life and I am trying my very best to achieve them one by one. And i believe that the best ingredient is to have a good action plan and focus so that we can get what we want in no time.

    1. Thank you so much for visiting. I do agree with you, a plan of action is the best way to achieve your goals, otherwise they become just dreams.

      Enjoy the journey.

  11. Hi Mandy,

I am really impressed with your step by step guides to take action and achieve our goals… I think the second step I feel it is the most important one… We need great plan to achieve our goal…..

Thanks for the nice posts… Keep up…
