K Is For Kindness

Mark Twain once said that kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

Kindness spreads love wherever you go.  It helps, it heals, it brings joy to those around you.  Princess Diana told us to ‘carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that someday someone might do the same for you’.

It is within our power to be kind.  We don’t have to wait until someone else shows us a kindness first.  Indeed it is those who we perceive to be unworthy who need our kindness most.  Don’t worry if the person you extend a kindness to seems ungrateful.  Maybe they are not used to people being kind to them.  If you are shown a kindness you should always pass it on.  By sharing with others you will be helping to spread love and good feelings across the world.  Even something as simple as a smile is a universal language of kindness.

As John Ruskin once said: ‘a little thought and a little kindness are often worth more than a great deal of money’.

Enjoy the journey!

  2. Hi Mandy

I remember my friends used to say that I am Gullible. I would extend kindness to others even though it did not benefit. I love Mark’s quote because it reminded me about why I took the decision to be kind and why I am still believe in it today.

Thanks for sharing. Do have a lovely day

    1. Hi Ikechi, thanks for visiting. I don’t believe that any kindness shown is a sign of being gullible. Good for you for sharing that humanity in you.

      Enjoy the journey!

  3. Kindness can have a ripple effect. Why not ripples of kindness vs volcanos of hope.

  5. Hi Mandy

I feel that kindness is simply the natural expression of unconditional love. When you vibrate with such energy, you exude kindness towards yourself and others in all circumstances of daily life. And as you intimated in your post, a simple smile can transform your day.

    1. Hi Matt, thanks for visiting. You have made a very important note there, kindness to ourselves is essential. Often we are very kind to others but forget to be kind to ourselves too.

      Enjoy the journey!
