Guest blogging has been hailed as a great way to get traffic to your own blog. It is also a way to get your name known and create an air of authority in the blogging sphere. Ryan Biddulph has written a great post with tips on how to become a guest blogger. You can read his post here.
I have written guest posts for a great number of blogs in my time, but I have never had a guest post on my own blog.
There are a number of reasons for that. Mainly I just love writing so much I want all the space myself! But also I have always been a little worried about who exactly I should invite to write for my blog. I have had one or two people who have approached me in the past and asked if they can write a post for my blog, but I find that unsolicited request quite hard. It’s been easy to say thanks but no thanks!
So, I have made a monumental decision! I have decided to ask for some guest posts that will be included here on my blog, mandyallen.com, over the next 3 months. I will still write posts but every other week starting on June 5th and running until the end of August I will publish one post by a guest writer.
I already have 3 people lined up with posts ready to go out and wonder if you would like to write a post for my blog.
Of course there will be a few rules around the post. I am looking for posts that are between 600 and 1,000 words, so much longer than my own short offerings. One of the reasons for this is that I want the posts to stand out from my own so it’s very clear that they are from different writers. Also I want to give the writers an opportunity to really get their teeth into the topic they are writing about.
And that brings me to the second item, the topic. I would like writers to produce something in the fields of either blogging or blog creation, so this might be something helpful to new bloggers, or to write about life, so it could be personal development, spirituality, general ‘life’s journey’ posts. Unique entries only please, and do include some images.
And there’s a bonus for each writer I publish. I will create a pdf book from your blog post so you can use it as a giveaway or free gift for your subscribers.
Obviously I can’t guarantee your post will be published at this stage, but if you are interested in submitting something for me to consider please get in touch, or leave me a comment saying so below.
Enjoy the journey!
