Action Is The Foundation For Success

There are no secrets to success, and a dream doesn’t become a reality by magic.  It takes hard work and determination.  As Gordon B. Hinckley said ‘without hard work nothing grows but weeds’.

I’ve been working hard for some time with a good friend, Steve King.  We met on an IM course in February 2009 and have joined up on a number of projects since then.  Our latest project is something we’ve been building towards since we first met – our own IM membership site.  We realised recently, when we questioned why we hadn’t achieved this before now, that we didn’t have the background to give us recognised credibility before.  We were too ‘new’ in the IM world for people to take us seriously, even though we are both professionals in our individual fields, and have a wealth of skills between us.  Over time we have earned the respect of a wide network of marketers and have built up the credibility to launch a product such as this. will be officially launched on March 1st, 2013.  It is a collection of bite sized tutorials that can be bought as stand alone products or bought in the membership area via recurring payment.  The benefit of the top tier membership is the buyer gets access to both Steve and I for any additional help they might need during their membership with us.  We will be offering this help via google hangouts each week, and one to one skype calls where necessary.  In additon to this we will create a video for you if necessary to explain any process you may be having difficulty with.

I’ve been on several IM courses, as most of us have, and they all seem to offer help, but it often ends up being email or support ticket help and sometimes people just need to talk to someone, face to face, have the chance to have an open discussion and describe what they are having difficulty with rather than trying to write it down in the form of a question, and then maybe they don’t really understand the answer so they’re back to square one.

As well as the membership site we are launching live face to face workshops to be held at different venues around the UK.  The first workshop will be on email marketing in April 2013 and it will be held near Swindon.  Free transport will run from the train station.  If you are interested in attending leave me a comment and I’ll let you know the details.

Can’t wait for March 1st and I can’t wait to meet some of you at our workshop in April!

  1. Hi Mandy

Had a quick look at the site, it is starting to shape up!

Well done on this venture, I am sure you will be a smash!

And for anyone out there, wondering if the training will be of value, or just some more empty pages on some pdf, let me tell you that recently I have had the privilege of being trained by Mandy, in a Google Hangout setting.

First, Google Hangouts ARE a great way to connect, share, and train,
Second, The content and structure Mandy brings to a session is some of the best I have had in any training, anywhere, since leaving school – and it is better than some of the teachings we had in school too for structure!

Mandy has a way of letting you all contribute, yet still learn, and she is able to let others contribute in the teachings of others, bringing your self confidence on, by letting you know that you know what to do!

This is one to check out, and I can’t wait to see what these guys do with this!

I have not met Steve yet, but look forward to doing so soon!

    1. Hi Jon, thanks for visiting, and thanks so much for agreeing to ‘test’ the site for us. Hope you get lots out of your membership! You’re very kind to say such nice things about the recent training you undertook with me. I am enjoying the experience as much as you all are, I can assure you! It’s quite sad to think next week will be our last group session. Oh well, all good things have to come to an end, as they say! I am really looking forward to launching Marketing Mini Classes and giving some great training to the new members. Would be lovely to meet up some time, hope you can make one of the live events!

      Enjoy the journey.

  2. Hi Mandy

Congratulations on being interviewed by Steve, you are a natural…

Your strong points are meet ups and presentations Mandy so I have no doubt in my mind that Marketing Mini Classes will be a huge success.

Swindons a bit far for me but I will try and get to one if I can.

Good luck with it and let us know how you get on.

    1. Hi Dawn, thanks for visiting, and excellent news abut your launch recently! I have added a banner to my sidebar for your brilliant new product. Shame you can’t make the live event this time but there will be one nearer to you. The next date will probably be in October and will be further up north. I already had four people who said they could make the south event and only one person from the north. I might let you see the video after!

      Enjoy the journey.

      1. Only might (ha ha)

Yes I don’t blame you as you’ve got to go where the crowds are so I’ll have to wait until you come up North a bit more.

I’ll be there in spirit and will be wishing you on.

  3. H Mandy,
I can feel your excitment and enthusiasm for your new venture with your friend Steve! I am looking forward to hearing all about it. I know what you design for this project will be absolutely smart, well organized, and informative – because in my short time with working with you, that is what I have experienced in our Leadership Training. Wish you lots of success with it.

    1. Hi Lesly, thanks for visiting. Steve and I have worked together on other projects so we know each other well, and really we’ve been working towards this for a long time now, so yes, excited is definitely what we are! Thank you for your kind words, I’m so glad you are enjoying the leader training and I hope everyone who joins Marketing Masterclasses will have a similarly good experience!

      Enjoy the journey.

  4. Well congratulations Mandy and also to Steve. I have no doubt that with both of you together as a team that your product will be a huge success.

You’re right, we all need a little extra support at times. A support ticket or an email never seems to cut it, not when things need to be explained a little further.

I’m excited for you both and I agree with Dawn. You’re a natural in front of that camera. Happy to see you in action.

I wish you the best with this Mandy, you definitely deserve it.

    1. Hi Adrienne, thanks for visiting. I’ve spoken to lots of internet marketers and they say it is the one fault with most training. I guess people want to get to the point where they sell stand alone products and don’t have to spend the time on the one to one support that takes up so much of your day, sometimes. Our intention is to run the support via hangouts so we can accomodate a bunch of people at once and everyone gets the help they need. We are also offering to make individual videos on topics people might be having difficulty with, and of course these will be added to the member area for everyone’s benefit. That was my first interview ever! Thanks for your kind words, Adrienne.

      Enjoy the journey.

  5. Hi Mandy,

Hard work and determination certainly are the foundational blocks for success and it doesn’t happen overnight. As a matter of fact, one of my last blog posts was about the “Discipline of Hard Work”

I enjoyed your interview with Steve and getting to know a bit more about your background. You have certainly paid your dues and deserve all the success and recognition that is coming your way.

The Marketing Mini Classes is a great idea and sounds like a wonderful program and it is so important for Networkers to get the proper Mentoring and Coaching. It is impossible to make this journey alone and people need support and guidance and it sounds like they will certainly receive that from you and Steve and the workshops will be a great addition to your program.

    To your massive success,

    1. Hi Marc, thanks for visiting. We spoke to a lot of marketers about face to face meets before deciding to include it in the programme. With a little forethought and the right content I know the attendees will get a great experience, not least from being in the same room with other people learning the same stuff! Thanks for your kind words.

      Enjoy the journey.

  6. Hey Mandy,

Please count me in for the Swindon event – all being well I’ll be there, as it’s not far from Bristol!

I know you mentioned email marketing as one of the topics, and I know I could definitely benefit from some training in this area (as well as many others!).

So please add me to the list of prospective attendees.

    1. Hi Nikki, thanks for visiting. You’re on the list, no problem! Yes, this particular workshop will focus on email marketing. We’ve got a stack of great content and input from a survey we’ve done, and attendees should go away with at the very least a plan for their email marketing, but we are hoping they may even have some written in full by the end of the afternoon. It will be good to meet you!

      Enjoy the journey.

  7. Hi Mandy,

congrats on the membership site and the idea of meetups, you have put so much effort into helping others over the years that you deserve all success,

    Best Wishes

I think we’ve all come such a long way, and there aren’t too many of us left from the original 140 students! Those that have stayed the course deserve to succeed! Thanks for the kind words, maybe we’ll see you at a meet up sometime!

      Enjoy the journey.

  8. Hi Mandy

  9. I definitely agree Mandy – action is the foundation for success…DAILY action is something I have been focusing on recently.
    Though I will admit…it ain’t always easy!!

Looking forward to the new site launch – Good Luck !!

    1. Hi Debbie, thanks for visiting. Daily action, yes, sometimes that is a hard thing, but don’t forget to take time out and certainly take your regular days off, we can’t work all the time! We’re very excited about the launch should have been last Friday but a technical hiccup prevented it. Nearly sorted now though and looking to launch properly later this week!

      Enjoy the journey.

  10. Hi Mandy,

Well today is your big day with the Marketing Mini Classes. I hope this is a very successful endeavor for you and Steve.

I would be glad to promote this site for you. As I mentioned to you in FB ya’ll are welcome to guest post on any of my sites and I’ll be ading it to my ‘Professional Colleagues” list on all of my sites.

There are so many folks that need help with marketing methods and techniques. I think you and Steve will do a terrific job.

  11. Hi Mandy

Don’t know why our paths haven’t really crossed before but it is fab to meet you and your classes look really interesting.

    I love the name!

You are so right with the contact – a support ticket often isn’t enough – and offering support is such high value and low cost to offer, because many people simply won’t take advantage of that kind of offer, yet is helps to sell the product.

I wish you lots of luck with the venture – please reach out for any help that I might be able to give 🙂

Sue Worthington recently posted..My First Webinar – A Nightmare DayMy Profile

    1. Hi Sue, thanks for visiting. I know I’ve seen your name around but am sure that’s all to do with JT as I started on his Masterclass in 2009 and moderate the Masterclass forum for him. Most of the action has moved to the Facebook group now though. Both Steve and I have been very clear that what some marketers need is more support to get them through. Personally I needed a lot of technical support and having someone who could show me rather than just do it would have been better. If I don’t know what I did wrong how could I fix it next time? In terms of moral support, motivation is a key player in this and meeting regularly online with people helps enormously with that, that’s why we want to include hangouts as part of the programme. Thanks so much for your offer of help, we appreciate it.

      Enjoy the journey.

  12. Hi Mandy,

I couldn’t agree more that getting more personal support through one on one communication, either face to face or on a Skype call is way more beneficial than any other kind of support. In addition you get instant feedback and constructive advice in real time. I have just recently been the recipient of such help from an experienced marketer Sally Neill who has really went out of her way to help me, and it just feels so good, when someone takes time out and stretches out a hand to you.

Look forward to learning more about your new membership site.

Gordon Smith recently posted..Making Friends Through BloggingMy Profile

    1. Hi Gordon, thanks for visiting. Glad Sally was able to help. She is a gem, isn’t she. I do agree that it’s much better to talk to someone. Support tickets only go so far to helping some people to understand what is going wrong, and bieng able to ask questions at the time is so valuable. I was on a course where the support would put anything right that you had got wrong, without question, but they never once explained what it was I had done to cause the mistake. Of course the result is you make the same mistake again and again until you discover yourself what you’re doing wrong!

      Enjoy the journey.
