The Mistakes I’ve Made

I’ve just received Ewen Chia’s book and have had my nose buried in it constantly since it arrived.  I have to say it is one of the easiest books to read.  He has a great way of writing in an easy to read style, the layout is great with spaces between text that is larger than average.  He has great little info boxes on the pages to reiterate the main point he is trying to make.  And the best part of all is I can read it in bed!

Anyway, Ewen is full of interesting little tips and hints for online success – you wouldn’t expect anything else, I’m sure.  So, I am about to commit a sin in his eyes by telling you about the mistakes I’ve made.  Ewen believes and advocates in the book that you must always portray yourself positively and tell everyone you are the best.  He believes that if you say things like ‘I don’t really know alot about this but…’  people won’t be inclined to buy from you.  I’m not so sure I quite agree with that but hey, he is the millionaire and me, well, I’m still a really long way away from it!

So, every week on masterclass I have found myself making a mistake with something.  Whether it has been getting completely sidetracked by some other ‘great’ product out there or being unable to activate something on my website because I have uploaded the wrong sort of file…I can tell you know what I mean already!

This week it was sending out an e.mail to my subscribers via aweber.  A simple task, you might think.  I did manage it okay, the test arrived in my inbox and a fake subscription I set up also received the mail without any trouble.  Then I read it.  I had advised my subscribers that there was a new post on my blog – and I totally forgot to put a link in the e.mail!  Ho hum.  Well, I just hope the readers know who I am.  I did consider resending but I don’t really want to hassle people.

So all of you who have subscribed to this blog, I apologise!  I will remember to put a link in the next e.mail and that will direct you to this post, so you can read the last post I wrote at the same time!

  1. Good on you for showing the way with post reminders, and yes, you don’t want to annoy your list, but at this stage seeing most? of us are only getting traffic from MasterClassMates we are going to be pretty forgiving.

    cheers john

Hi John, a rather late reply I’m afraid (another mistake I made!)! Thanks for visiting.

    Enjoy the journey.

  2. Hi Mandy, Thanks for the tip, i also noticed the list got longer. I started at the bottom again, nothing quiet like doing things twice ha ha.
I had to go back to Aweber and alter my message as well, but this is the time for learning them, so don’t worry to much. Like John said most of our visitors are all masterclass students at the moment.

I like your style of writing.
    Good luck with it all

Hi Barry, well, I do believe that I have made quite enough mistakes for now! I must try harder!

    Enjoy the journey.

  3. Hi Mandy,
It’s good to see that there are “Normal” people out there in the Internet Marketing trying hard to make it to the top. The e-book you are reading looks great, please share it with us by putting a link in your post. Your affiliate link will be better :-)
    Keep up the good work

Hi Mostafa, it’s not an ebook, bought from Amazon. That’s why I like it so much, I can read it in bed!

    Enjoy the journey.

  4. Hello Mandy,

Great post. Being human involves making mistakes, so I agree with you. Talking about errors enables you to connect with ‘real’ people.

Excellent blog, keep up the good work.

    John

Thank you, John. I have been making mistakes all the way through this but it has helped me to learn so very much.

    Enjoy the journey.

    Mandy
