Mark Twain once said that kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
Kindness spreads love wherever you go. It helps, it heals, it brings joy to those around you. Princess Diana told us to ‘carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that someday someone might do the same for you’.
It is within our power to be kind. We don’t have to wait until someone else shows us a kindness first. Indeed it is those who we perceive to be unworthy who need our kindness most. Don’t worry if the person you extend a kindness to seems ungrateful. Maybe they are not used to people being kind to them. If you are shown a kindness you should always pass it on. By sharing with others you will be helping to spread love and good feelings across the world. Even something as simple as a smile is a universal language of kindness.
As John Ruskin once said: ‘a little thought and a little kindness are often worth more than a great deal of money’.
Enjoy the journey!
