G Is For Generosity

What most unsuccessful people do not realise is that in order to receive you have to give.  Instead of having a ‘what’s in it for me’ attitude you must give freely, not expecting anything in return.  It is only then that you will reap the rewards of your generosity.

“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”

John Wesley 1703-1791 English Evangelist and Founder of Methodism.

Enjoy the journey.

I agree that we should be generous to others, but John Wesley presents us with a tall order doesn’t he?

When there are so many in need how can we possibly live up to this, unless we can completely dedicate our lives to it.

Hi Sue, I think doing something is better than doing nothing though. Tall order or not, it’s the same as believing your one vote in an election won’t make a difference. A beach is made up of many grains of sand.

      Enjoy the journey!

    Hi Mandy,

I agree with Sue. A lot to do but I think maybe the point could be not that we can help everyone but help everyone we can.

    Have a great weekend.

Hi Monna. You’re quite right, I was reading it too literally. Helping everyone we can is more to the point.

    Hi Mandy

A true wisdom that you have so shared. It is simple enough that the more you give, the more you receive. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful week.
