Does Your Tab Have Something In It?

It is very important to be as visible as we possibly can be in this world of blogging and online marketing.  Thinking about what you want your home page tab to say is part of the process, and often people add specially made header graphics to their blog, erasing the tab text, and they don’t think to put something back in the tab.  This video shows you how to add or edit the text in your tab so it tells your readers when your page is open on their screen.  Take a look and let me know whether this video is helpful to you by leaving a comment below.

    Hi Mandy,

That’s a very important point you’ve made here. I’m amazed at the amount of blogs that don’t have anything for their title.

As you displayed here it is easy to add a title but i think many people avoid going in the editor section for fear of doing something wrong.

I have mine inserted via the All In One SEO plugin and think it does the job really well. Oh by the way my tag line says “Blogging My Way Through The Maze of Internet Marketing, I thought I sounded a bit Frank Sinatra there for a minute Mandy ha ha.

I’ve added the video to the challenge Mandy, have a great week 🙂

    Take care, Barry

Hi Barry, thanks for visiting. I agree, I’m always surprised at how many people don’t use the function. I like the sound of the plug in, I’ll take a closer look at it.

      Enjoy the journey.

    Hi Mandy,

Going into the editor is rather scary, but like anything, when you know how to do it ….

As Barry said, very good point, I must go and do a little change on mine.

    Thanks Mandy for sharing that.

Hi Julie, thanks for visiting. Yes, the editor can be scary but as long as you save before you make any changes, just in case you need to go back to the start, everything should be fine.

      Enjoy the journey.

Hi Mandy, nice meeting you in Barry’s Video Blog Challenge! This is a really important title tag that everyone should have on their site. It helps Google and Bing identify what your site is about also in addition to humans. Thanks for the tips Mandy.

    Hi Mandy,

It is surprising how we can take things for granted as bloggers. I remember a time when I knew nothing about word press or blogging whatsoever. Looking back, it would have been great to have been able to have videos like this when I was first starting.

It can be easy to take things that you and I see as simple for granted.

Good job on th video and thanks for sharing!

    Take care,

Hi Jeremy, thanks for visiting. I so agree with your comment. Some simple things are missed because we don’t have all the information from the start.

      Enjoy the journey.

    Thanks for this Mandy!

Adding something in the tab which refers the title of your page is really important. I remember those moments where you open a webpage and your internet slows down, then the page loads incomplete. You get more frustrated when the tab (title) doesn’t tell you anything.

This might be a simple mistake but can really make a huge difference especially at the perspective of your site visitors.

    Regards,
    Blake

Hi Blake, thanks for visiting. You are right, it is simple to rectify, but many people do not know how, nor do they notice that their tab is empty!

      Enjoy the journey.

    Hi Mandy,

It’s been a while, I hope all is well. I see you changed things up a bit on your blog.

Good blog post. Something as simple as your title not showing is unprofessional and not to full potential. This is a good example of something so simple but all so very powerful.

Catch you later Mandy, it’s good to visit your blog. Keep on keeping on,

Hi Terry, yes, I’ve changed things a bit. I was getting better traffic for my Learn To Blog site so moved it onto my name domain. Seems like a good move. Onward and upward.

      Enjoy the journey.
