D Is For Doubt

You know, those niggling little thoughts that creep in when you are not looking.  They start to eat away at you and try to persuade you that the decision you’ve just made is somehow flawed, or you didn’t consider all the possibilities, then they try to change your mind, make you reverse your thinking.

It’s always important to question what you do, how and why you do it, so you can make an informed choice.  However doubts are the negative side of our thinking and must be dealt with rationally.

“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt.  Doubt separates people.  It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations.  It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.” Buddha

Enjoy the journey.

Doubt certainly can get in the way of so many things in life. Buddha was certainly right in the estimation of the issues that it can cause.

Hi Elise, thanks for visiting. I love Buddha philosophy. My friend is a Buddhist nun so I am often debating with her and her philosophy is based on her religion so Buddha features heavily in our debates!
